Mom,

So I didn't get a card out and I know how you hem and haw when we give you gifts (even though I know you love your kindle) so I thought maybe a post would be a good way to know you are loved on this mother's day. I am enjoying a little free time while the kids nap and what more relaxing thing to do than click clack on my laptop with an iced coffee in hand. Thank you for raising us the way you did--with an amazing faith that I aspire to. For praying for us daily. For your unbelievable patience even during the tantrum years--I appreciate it now more than ever as I now know what it is like to parent young strong willed personalities :). Now as a mom myself there is a whole new layer to our relationship and my appreciation for you as I see you interact with my kids. Reading to them, holding them, sending cards, making frequent drives down for visits and so much more--all these things are incredibly invaluable both to them and to my mother's heart. Thanks for the many phone calls and your interest in the details of our daily life--no matter how mundane. Thanks for always making a herculean effort to be with us and make us feel special on birthdays. You work hard to serve your family (and others too I might add) on a daily basis and never ever complain. I could go on and on but I think Ryan is expecting me back from my mini vacation here soon :)

We all love you very much. Hope you are enjoying this day as much as I am.

Heather
