I have been working nights for about 5 weeks now and I've been able to sleep o.k on my nights off until tonight. I woke up at 3am wide awake. After trying to go back to sleep for about 45 minutes and telling Ryan to quit snoring 3 times I decided to give up and embrace the night. I got the dogs up (they'll get out of their crates anytime) and decided to make scones and fold some laundry. You know, all the normal stuff that people do at 4am :). This month has been more difficult (and it's only the 5th day of it) because I have only about 1-2 hours of awake time at home between shifts and if the girls are napping during that time then I don't get to be with them at all. I hate to be a whiner, but if you can't complain on your own blog, where can you complain ? :) It will get better in April--just in time for warm weather. Lydia and Grace are so much fun. We try and try to get videos of them smiling and laughing but as soon as that camera is in front of them they become very stoic. So we have a lot of very boring footage but we'll keep trying. I have rice cereal on my shopping list so we're progressing to solid foods soon (i'm waiting until the last minute to start them because they've just started to be masters of their 8 oz bottles).

(this is Sara) I was awake at 4am today too feeding Ellie and getting ready for work. we too have many hours of babies staring blankely at the video, there's just something so mesmerizing about the camera in front of mommy's face :) still with jay i have to sneak and turn the video camera on and then convince him that i was just moving it and that it's really not on! fun times!
hang in there with work, you're almost done!
